User's Rights and Content

Users retain all rights to any content they upload or share on CallRaven. Users are responsible for the content they generate. CallRaven is not liable or responsible for any user generated content and reserves the right to remove any content that violates the privacy policy or terms of service.

CallRaven does not collect or store any personal information. Private messages sent through the Messages application are encrypted end-to-end and only stored until successful retrieval by the user. The user's client application (the app or website) then instructs the service to delete the encrypted copy stored on the server. A user record containing the user's public keys are stored on the server. If users opt to subscribe to push notifications for messages, a record of their subscription and vapid public key is stored by Callraven for the purposes of sending push notifications.

Data Shared with Other Users

Some applications on CallRaven, such as the Video Chat app, are peer-to-peer and by their nature reveal your IP address and some connection information to other peers (other users) of the application. Data captured using your camera or microphone is sent securely peer-to-peer using WebRTC and HTTPS (TLS). This data does not get sent to the server. User's public keys may be provided to other users for the facilitation of encrypted communication. Some required connection data about your browser client and your internet connection (such as your IP address) may be logged by the server or the service's hosting provider.

Data Stored on The User's Devices

Some features and functionality on CallRaven may store information on your device in order to function properly. This includes, but is not limited to, contacts, unencrypted messages, user's public keys, authentication tokens, notes, and chat room names.

Authentication tokens and public keys may be sent to the server in order to authenticate a user. Your unencrypted messages and contacts are never sent to the server and never stored on the server. CallRaven cannot read, decrypt, or recover private messages stored on the server.

Inbox keys are required to use some CallRaven services. These inbox keys are generated and stored on the user's device. The user's public keys may be sent to the server to facilitate encrypted communication. The user's private keys are not stored on the server and are the user's responsibility. Users should backup their inbox keys and messages regularly. If a user loses their inbox keys, they will not be able to retrieve or recover their messages from the server and will need to create new inbox keys to continue using the service. CallRaven is not responsible for the loss of inbox keys or messages.

Notes created in the Notebook app are saved locally on the device. Notes are not sent to the server and do not sync between devices. The Video Chat app stores the name of the chat room you last joined or shared locally on your device. Chat room names are not saved on the server, but may remain within server memory while in use or for some time after users have disconnected.

Third Parties

CallRaven does not share information about users with any third-parties, with the exception of information required to be provided by law to government or law enforcement entities. This information could include the user's public keys, the timestamp the user last checked in, and any encrypted messages still stored on the server. These encrypted messages still remain secure in that they cannot be decrypted without the intended recipient's private key and relevant session data which in practice is only available from the user's local device. This information is never stored on the server and cannot be retrieved or recovered by CallRaven.

Terms of Service
